Decide how the ticket will support your lesson—whether to review prior knowledge, assess understanding, or spark curiosity. Use the provided A4 PDF to print them out. Each PDF has 4 tickets and you can use a paper cutter or scissors to cut them out.
-
Place the tickets in a consistent location in your classroom, or hand them out as students enter the lesson. Clearly display the instructions and supporting visuals on the board to ensure students know what to do. You can screenshot a ticket and embed it on your slides and presentations.
-
Familiarise students with the ticket process, especially when introducing it for the first time. Explain how the ticket will be used to support their learning and model the task if needed.
-
Set a specific time limit (e.g., 3–5 minutes) for students to complete their ticket. Encourage them to think critically and document their responses clearly and thoughtfully.
-
After completing the ticket, reconvene the class to discuss their responses. Optionally, create a dedicated display area in your classroom where students can pin or stick their tickets for review.
-
Tickets can transition students from one lesson to another, helping them recall what they’ve learned, apply it, or address new questions.
They are also useful for assessing understanding of homework, assignments, or key concepts explored in a unit of study.
Be consistent with where and how tickets are distributed and collected.
Adapt the task to fit your lesson objectives, whether it’s an entry activity to spark interest, a reflection of the last lesson, or a quick review of key content.
Use tickets to encourage active engagement and critical thinking while ensuring a smooth flow to your lessons.
